What is the Bitcoin network health index?<\/h2>

This is a composite index from 0 to 100<\/strong> that summarises the activity and security<\/strong> of the Bitcoin network. It combines five on-chain metrics \u2014 hashrate, active addresses, daily transactions, on-chain volume and daily fees \u2014 each normalised against its own range over the last year, then averaged.<\/p>

A high reading means most of these metrics are near the top of their yearly range (a busy, well-secured network); a low reading means the opposite. The orange line is the BTC price, shown only for context.<\/p>

It describes the pulse<\/em> of the network. It is not a price valuation, a buy\/sell signal, or investment advice.<\/p>

How is the index calculated?<\/h3>

Each of the five metrics is scaled from 0 to 100 by its minimum and maximum over the last year (min-max normalisation). The index is the simple average of those five scores for each day. It is a transparent, arithmetic summary, not a model or a forecast.<\/p>

Does a high index mean the price will go up?<\/h3>

No. The index measures on-chain activity and network security, not price. Network usage and price can move together or apart. We only describe the figure; we do not predict price.<\/p>

Why these five metrics?<\/h3>

Hashrate proxies network security and miner commitment; active addresses and transactions proxy real usage; on-chain volume proxies economic throughput; and daily fees proxy demand for block space. Together they give a broad read of the network's pulse.<\/p>

Where does the data come from?<\/h3>

The on-chain series come from Blockchain.com and the BTC price from Binance (no API keys). The index is computed live from the last year of data; nothing is stored.<\/p><\/div><\/div>
