The put\/call ratio for Ethereum options is 0.83, which is considered bearish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">25,000 BTC options are about to expire with a Put Call Ratio of 0.7, a max pain point of $29,000 and a notional value of $0.72 billion.<br>217,000 ETH options are about to expire, with a Put Call Ratio of 0.83, a max pain point of $1,950 and a notional value of $4.2 billion. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XSiuha3qDa\">pic.twitter.com\/XSiuha3qDa<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Greeks.live (@GreeksLive) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GreeksLive\/status\/1649225280089886720?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 21, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In contrast, current Bitcoin options indices are not overwhelmingly leaning in either direction and are considered neutral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Market impact and price correction of Ethereum (ETH)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The impact on the Ethereum options market is expected to be minimal, as Kraken wallets have withdrawn a large chunk of staked ETH in recent days, and the current options index is not overwhelmingly leaning in either direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.islabit.com\/precio-de-ethereum-eth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ETH price<\/a> is down 8.5% from its recent high of $2,136 on April 17, and the downside could see ETH find support in the $1,850 price zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reduction in the supply of ETH<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the past 217 days, the total supply of ETH <a href=\"https:\/\/ultrasound.money\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">has decreased<\/a> by 103,092 coins, worth over $200 million at current prices, due to the merger that moved Ethereum away from a proof-of-work consensus mechanism that consumes a lot of energy to a more environmentally friendly proof-of-stake method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the merger had never happened and Ethereum remained secured by miners, unlike the participants, the ether supply would have increased by more than 2.52 million coins, or $4.9 billion. The supply of native Ethereum coins would have also increased by 3.53% per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reduction in ETH supply due to ether burning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.islabit.com\/en\/168406\/what-is-ethereum-merge.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ethereum merger<\/a> has catalyzed the reduction in the supply of native ETH coins, it did not implement the burning of ether.
