You can open it from the context menu on the Start menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the Device Manager windows select Keyboards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Right-click the keyboard driver and select the Uninstall device option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm the order with Uninstall button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remember that <strong>you must not restart the system for the keyboard to remain locked<\/strong>. You can restart the system when the lock is not needed anymore. The keyboard driver will be reinstalled automatically when you restart the computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Use the Command Prompt for locking<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using the CMD console, Terminal or PowerShell you can execute a simple command that locks the keyboard. You need t open the CMD console as an administrator and follow these options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accept system permissions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run the following command: sc config i8042prt start= disabled<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Windows the default port for the keyboard is 8042. This console method will make the locking process permanent. Restart Windows in order to apply the change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you want to re-enable the keyboard function run this command in CMD: sc config i8042prt start= auto<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Use KeyFreeze<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The app KeyFreeze is an excellent alternative to easily <strong>lock the keyboard<\/strong>. You can download it for free from the <a href=\"https:\/\/keyfreeze.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">official website<\/a>. The app locks the keyboard and mouse only, without the need to lock the entire PC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Run the file and click on Install to proceed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press the Download and install this feature button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close the installation wizard for the application to run.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on Lock Keyboard &amp; Mouse and grant the permissions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure that the keyboard doesn\u2019t work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To recover keyboard functionality press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press the Escape key and restore keyboard use.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lock the Windows keyboard with LiteLockr<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another utility available in Windows 10\/11 is LiteLockr and you can download it from: litelockr. It allows you to do several customizations to your keyboard locking configuration:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can lock all desktop applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Configure a white list of unlocked apps.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select certain input devices to lock.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lock the taskbar and allow the icons for unlocked apps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LiteLockr is a <strong>portable app<\/strong> and doesn\u2019t require installation. Just download the file and open the file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on Extract all.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run the file and you may encounter a security error.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open Windows security from the search box.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to App &amp; browser control and click on Reputation-based protection settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turn off \u201cSmartScreen for Microsoft Edge\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run the file again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the icon to lock the keyboard and mouse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to <strong>regain functionality you have to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and press Escape key<\/strong>. Using LiteLockr you can also make several adjustments. For example, click on the utility\u2019s shortcut and then on the gear icon. You can set these actions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Define the key combination to lock or unlock the keyboard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose not to lock your current apps.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Include child safety features.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Start along with Windows.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lock from startup.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From the Advance menu you can also select other features such as:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Showing or hiding notifications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Define the time before locking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lock at a specific time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unlock using keys.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Using a keyboard in Windows 10\/11 is commonplace, because it allows you to input data quickly and comfortably.
