It\u2019s one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.islabit.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/DeepSeek-AI-features.webp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">newest AI-features<\/a> that Microsoft embedded to Word. For additional options you only need to click on the Copilot button. For example, you can ask Copilot to summarize a document or create an image based on a description. You can remove the \u201cdraft\u201d action but the Copilot button will still be present. Don\u2019t worry because it will be inactive and grayed out until you manually enable it again. Follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open Microsoft Word on your PC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Options on the landing page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can also access it through an opening document going to File \u00e0 Options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Switch to Copilot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uncheck the \u201cEnable Copilot\u201d option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the OK button and confirm the change.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Disabling Copilot takes effect immediately<\/strong>. You don\u2019t need to restart Microsoft Word. In case you want to revert the change at any time you only need to do the same process and check the \u201cEnable Copilot\u201d box again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike other settings, disabling Copilot on Word does not affect other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.islabit.com\/en\/175309\/5-apps-that-every-office-employee-must-have-on-their-smartphone.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Office apps<\/a> uses. You have to disable Copilot separately in each app in case you don\u2019t want AI features to work.
