This is known as guest network and you can put a different name to it, as well as a password and configuration. It\u2019s extremely easy and you can do it without messing with the main network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Disconnect devices at the same time<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By <strong>using a different WiFi network<\/strong> for your home automation device, you can disconnect them directly without affecting your regular connection. This is very useful if you have several sensors and prefer to disconnect them when you leave. It\u2019s also easy to reconnect them directly, as you can activate the network again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Increased security<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Smart devices<\/strong> are always connected to the Internet. If you are using older devices with no recent updates, you may be exposing your WiFi network to hackers and a different one is extremely useful. You can create a separate WiFi network to connect the rest of your devices without any danger. You can also improve your security as the hacking possibilities reduce drastically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Avoid compatibility problems<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A new router with WiFi 7 uses WPA3 by default. <strong>Older devices won\u2019t be able to connect if you have this set up<\/strong>. It means that certain devices and apps will use of available resources more efficiently. For example, you can set a specific bandwidth. By separating home automation devices in a different network, you can choose which devices and elements require more connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, these motives are more than enough to try and set a different WiFi network parting from the same router.
