If you are still using Windows 10 operating system there\u2019s a new emergency update patch you should install right now. It comes to correct a dangerous and bothersome error that certain devices with Windows 10 tend to suffer.<\/p>\n

The emergency update patch for Windows 10<\/strong> solves the problem experienced by Intel based systems<\/a> regarding Bitlocker recovery. It\u2019s an issue related to LSASS because of the cumulative update KB5058379.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intel Trusted Execution Technology <\/strong>(TXT) devices from 10th<\/sup> generation onwards present this problem. Microsoft promised an update to solve it and now it\u2019s here.  In the change log the user can read the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A known problem in Intel Trusted Execution Technology<\/strong> devices enabled on Intel vPro processors from the 10th<\/sup> generation onwards fixed. In these systems, the installation of the security patch for Windows 10 from May 13th<\/sup> 2025 KB5058379 may cause unexpected closure of LSASS. This triggers the Automatic Restoration with BitLock key in order to continue\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The update post from Microsoft<\/strong> recommends the installation of the cumulative update KB5061768 for those affected by this problem. However if you have experienced infinite Bitlocker loops before, there\u2019s another alternative:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go into BIOS\/UEFI and disable temporarily the Intel VT for Direct I\/O and Intel TXT.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Introduce the BitLocker recovery password to initiate Windows.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Install the KB5061768 update from Microsoft catalog<\/a> and restart the computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Go back to the BIOS\/UEFI and enable VTD\/VTX and TXT again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Input the Bitlocker recovery password again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    This is a clear example of how installing an update fast may be dangerous<\/strong>. Thankfully, Microsoft provided a solution pretty quick for those who have already updated the system.
