In a significant gesture of collaboration between the government and the private sector, large tech companies such as Adobe, IBM, Nvidia, Palantir, Stability, Salesforce, Scale AI and Cohere have endorsed the president’s proposed voluntary commitments on Artificial Intelligence (AI) of the United States, Joe Biden.
This support, officially announced yesterday, Tuesday, September 12, from the White House, marks an important turn in the search for ethical and responsible use of AI.
These technology companies have made specific commitments to prevent the misuse of AI for harmful purposes. This includes the development and implementation of rigorous guidelines to ensure ethics in the use of this technology.
The endorsement of tech giants such as OpenAI partners Google, OpenAI and Microsoft in July also highlights the industry’s unity around these principles.

White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients led the presentation of these commitments during a press conference in which he highlighted the need to harness the benefits of AI while addressing its risks.
