If you are still using Windows 10 operating system there’s a new emergency update patch you should install right now. It comes to correct a dangerous and bothersome error that certain devices with Windows 10 tend to suffer.
The emergency update patch for Windows 10 solves the problem experienced by Intel based systems regarding Bitlocker recovery. It’s an issue related to LSASS because of the cumulative update KB5058379.

Windows 10 emergency patch solution
Intel Trusted Execution Technology (TXT) devices from 10th generation onwards present this problem. Microsoft promised an update to solve it and now it’s here. In the change log the user can read the following:
A known problem in Intel Trusted Execution Technology devices enabled on Intel vPro processors from the 10th generation onwards fixed. In these systems, the installation of the security patch for Windows 10 from May 13th 2025 KB5058379 may cause unexpected closure of LSASS. This triggers the Automatic Restoration with BitLock key in order to continue”.
The update post from Microsoft recommends the installation of the cumulative update KB5061768 for those affected by this problem. However if you have experienced infinite Bitlocker loops before, there’s another alternative:
- Go into BIOS/UEFI and disable temporarily the Intel VT for Direct I/O and Intel TXT.
- Introduce the BitLocker recovery password to initiate Windows.
- Install the KB5061768 update from Microsoft catalog and restart the computer.
- Go back to the BIOS/UEFI and enable VTD/VTX and TXT again.
- Input the Bitlocker recovery password again.
This is a clear example of how installing an update fast may be dangerous. Thankfully, Microsoft provided a solution pretty quick for those who have already updated the system. A good recommendation is waiting to install any new update. You should make sure that the system works properly before installing any new patch.
