After almost a decade, eSIM is ready to kiss traditional SIMs goodbye

In 1991 the first SIM card appeared and the evolution of this technology has been slow. The eSIM alternative comes to change the paradigm and remove the physical card to give space to virtual cards. Besides, the eSIM allows a lot of new stuff that traditional SIM cards don’t.

Right now, eSIM main use is for those countries that don’t allow for free roaming. You can directly set an eSIM and enjoy your phone service but there are also other interesting stuff for our daily life.

From credit cards to nano SIM, the eSIM evolution

Until now, the SIM card system has evolved along the mobile phone devices. At first the format was similar to a credit card, but then the die cut format arrived. This decision was well received because the card is easiest to use and compact.

Get prepared for eSIM use

An eSIM is like a virtual version of your traditional SIM card. It doesn’t require physical support and there are also several advantages. For example, you won’t need to share space on your device. That’s great for developers as they can introduce different chips because the free space for the card.
