The official announcement from Meta indicates that WhatsApp in Android can now turn documents to PDF files in a few seconds. It’s a little hidden in the interface but follow these steps to activate it:
- Open any WhatsApp chat and click on the attachment clip icon.
- Select the Documents option.
- In the upper menu you will find the Scan document button. Click on it.
- The camera will open with Automatic and Manual alternatives.
- Automatic allows WhatsApp to focus and frame the document. You need to remain immobile for a few seconds.
- WhatsApp will show you the image and you can retouch the photo to obtain the best result.
- Click on Next and you can send the file to the contact you decide.
This new feature is useful to send bank tickets, services bills and any other kind of formal papers. WhatsApp will automatically generate a PDF file you can save or share.
