You sure know about the app Shazam to discover the name and artists of songs that are playing around. Now you don’t even need to have it installed if you have a Google Pixel device. They include a feature called Now playing. It works exactly like Shazam and you can activate it with just a button since Android 15 onwards.
The Android Now playing feature helps you discover songs as it registers automatically each piece playing around you. You can also set it to work manually in order to have more privacy. The mobile devices with Android 15 from Google can also use a new one-button only feature for quick access.
Discover songs playing with a button
In order to use the Now playing feature in Google Pixel you can follow different ways. You can hold the lower part of the screen until Gemini features appear. There you have to select the music symbol to activate the discover songs playing feature. The problem is that you may miss the song if it’s near its conclusion. In Android 15 you have a quick access feature to never miss a song again.
With the new Android update you have a direct access button that you can activate from the control panel. It works exactly as a WiFi or Bluetooth switch. The Now playing quick access does not appear by default, you have to select it manually. Follow these indications
- Go into your Google Pixel control panel by sliding the notifications bar down.
- Select the pencil button to add or remove new quick access buttons.
- Search the Song Search button.
- Hold and drag it to the upper part of the panel to add it.
Now you only have to wait for a song and open the control panel. Then you press the Song Search button and the mobile phone will identify the songs to discover what is playing around you.
