The IPTV channels setting on Android TV Box is a little complex compared with Kodi or Plex, but it’s worth the time. You have to set the channels on your provider using an UDP proxy and this article explains how to do it step by step.
Requirements to watch IPTV channels on your Android TV Box
The process requires some technical knowledge and you need to meet all the requirements for a correct IPTV configuration. First you need to have a IPTV facilitator like TVirl that you can download from the Play Store.
You also need to download a Proxy UDP like udpxy for multicast broadcasting. The channels list must be in M3U format and the TV guide Feed should be XMLTV format. Your provider my vary but most of them offer these kind of files. You can also user the WebGrab Plus converter to fix the output format. There’s also the EPG for IPTV option that gives you all the requirements in one package but it’s a paid alternative.
Include IPTV on your Android TV Box
Register yourself on EPG or WebGrab Plus and get the TV Feed on XMLTV. Both services include easy to follow instructions to download the file. Once you have it on your network, execute M3U in a text editor and erase the lines on channels you don’t want to add. Remove the metadata in order for extra channels to be omitted.
Open the XMLTV file on your web browser and add the tvg-id tag in the ID box for each channel. Then proceed to set the udpxy in a server from your network using a NAS, router or another device.
The objective is to link the Android TV Box network with the IPTV channels and you can check it from the following address: http://192.168.1.1:4022/status
